District of West Bengal. It has a glorious past. The institution has an impeccable
academic record. Students intending to study the traditional courses come to the campus
of Uluberia College every year. The Humanities wing of this college is very strong.
English, Bengali,Political Science, Philosophy and History are taught in this
college.Uluberia College, the dream-child of an educationist and Headmaster of a local
high school Sri Haripada Ghoshal, started its
journey on 16th August, 1948. Sri Ghoshal, the founder Principal of the college, wanted
to start an educational institution for higher studies especially for the girls who had
to discontinue their education after completion of their school studies as there was no
college nearby. He started the college with a handful of boys and girls, practically
begging door to door for the girl students. Now his dream has been fulfilled—the number
of girl students is increasing day by day and in some streams they have outnumbered
their other halves.With the passage of time Uluberia College, as an institution of
higher studies imparting UG courses to all aspiring learners from diverse communities
(minority- dominated) and economic background from rural areas, has prepared, modified
and upgraded itself to meet the academic challenges and changing demands of the learners
and society.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Uluberia College is all set to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee with great fervour and jubilation. The college is now 75 years young. Shri. Haripada Ghoshal, a school teacher, ignited a light many years ago, and it is still burning today.
It is a day to remember gratefully each and every person who had been instrumental in shaping the institution. The portals of this institution have been formed and nurtured by dedicated teachers, loyal non-teaching staff and above all past and present students who have been committed to live up to our ideals. On this auspicious occasion, to make this Platinum Jubilee a memorable event, it is high time to fulfil the mission of reaching out to others by spreading the light of cognition and social well-being through various initiatives.
