The department of English first started functioning with an English General Course in the year 1948 and then, English Honours Course was introduced in 1996. Dedicated to the intellectual curiosity and analytical dexterity and creative thinking of the students, the English Department fosters its students by the combination of traditional and experimental methods of teaching. The involvement of the teachers in the students’ education extends beyond the classroom activities and performances. The department believes in not just teaching the syllabi but also in assisting the students to decide their career plans and discuss different opportunities that can be available to them. The department regularly published wall magazines, journals and organizes departmental seminars.
